Converting SaxTax Data into Personal Property Pro.

We can now convert your SaxTax information into Personal Property Pro!  This includes all client, property, and asset information from your SaxTax tangible returns.  We've been doing Florida tangible software going on five years now, and we started to get so many calls to convert SaxTax data into our program, that we rolled up our sleeves and did it.

This takes just a few minutes but it will save you a huge amount of time when you realize you can start using Personal Property Pro with ALL of your information already loaded!  Here's how to do it:

  1. Start your SaxTax 2008 program.
  2. From the Tools menu, select the 'Back up Clients' menu option.
  3. Verify that the directory name displayed is the directory that you want to back up.
...this defaults to C:\FLINT\CLI08, but you will just see C: and CLI08 at the top of the form.
  4. Click 'Select All'.
  5. Change the 'Backup file name' from ?:\...\CLI08\CLI08.zip to ?:\...\CLI08\CLI08-YourCompanyName.zip and note where this file is located.
  6. Click the 'Back Up Files' button.  Your files are now backed up to a compressed 'zip' file.
  7. Send an email to sales@personalpropertypro.com and attach this ???.zip file to the email.

Note:  If you have already added some clients to Personal Property Pro that you want to keep,
you will also need to zip and attach the file called 'dbData.mdb'.  To find this file, start PPP,
click on File, Database Functions, and double-click the green box.  This will open the directory
where this file resides.  From there, you can zip it up.  Make a note of where it is so you can
attach it to the email.  We will send you this file back, and you will need to save it in the same location

  8. In your email, tell us whether to import ALL SaxTax clients, or just clients that have tangible returns (the default).

After we receive your email, we will convert your data into a Personal Property Pro database and send you an email with the new Personal Property Pro database file attached along with instructions on where to save the file.  If you have any questions, feel free to call us at (918) 252-1157.

If you want us to sign any type of non-discloser agreement, fax it to (918) 250-5025.  We will sign the form and fax it back.

FMV is Coming to Florida!  Next year (tax year 2009) we will be adding FMV (Fair Market Value) calculations to our software!  While most users don't bother with FMV because the county's calculate the FMV, some users have requested this feature because it gives them an estimate to compare with the county numbers. If this is important to you, be assured that you will have the ability to use Present Value factors to provide you with suggested guidelines for the estimate of Fair Market Value!
